This Brandon home had a low 2/12 pitch shingle roof that had been under blue tarps since early September. Once the old roof came off, the crew found rotted decking and damaged rafters, so they replaced the plywood and sistered the rafters before drying in. The finished roof is a ribbed metal panel in a copper metallic finish that gives the house a completely new look from the street.
Roof tarped through September; tear-off, wood repairs and metal install October 7 to 9.
What we found
- ✕A low 2/12 shingle roof that had been under storm tarps for weeks
- ✕Rotted plywood decking under the old shingles
- ✕Damaged rafters that needed reinforcing before a new roof could go on
What we did
- ✓Removed the tarps and tore the roof off to the rafters where needed
- ✓Replaced the rotted decking with new plywood and sistered the damaged rafters
- ✓Dried in the full roof with self-adhered underlayment
- ✓Installed ribbed metal panels in a copper metallic finish with matching trim
- ✓Cleaned up and hauled away all debris
